An easy way to both support the Southeastern Firefighters' Burn Foundation’s work and be kind to the environment! This green program began in 1988 to fund assistance programs that help meet the special needs of our burn survivors and their families. Funds help pay for special clothing, therapeutic equipment, and other nonmedical items that are typically excluded from medical insurance plans. Maintenance for the Shirley Badke Retreat is also funded by the ACBV program. Supporting this program couldn’t be much easier. Simply save your aluminum cans and drop them off at any of the trailer locations listed, and encourage your company, family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. Our generous supporters have helped The Foundation raise more than $55,000 annually.

A child is brought to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center by helicopter, and the parents drive to Augusta, several states away, all the while worried about whether or not their son or daughter will be alive when they arrive. They leave with only the clothes on their backs and little money. Where will this family stay during their child's lengthy hospitalization? How will they obtain additional clothing and afford regular meals? If they are indigent, how will they ensure their child has all of the specialized garments, dressings, and medications that are critical for a successful recovery?

This is where the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation (SFBF) steps in. We’re here to help these families. The Joseph M. Still Burn Center , at Doctors Hospital , is located in Augusta, Georgia. Families of burn patients, as well as burn patients who receive treatment at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center , are referred to us and then provided shelter and comfort at our Jeffrey Vaden Chavis House at the Shirley Badke Retreat . With the help of our generous volunteers , the Burn Foundation is able to provide meals once a day, seven days a week. Additionally, the SFBF provides pressure dressings to burn patients free of charge for their long-term care.

The Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation support extends far beyond our Augusta, GA location; our aid recipients come from all over the US. In fact, More than 3,000 patients are admitted to the Burn Center annually; that’s approximately 7.6% of the nation’s burn patients. Generous support from donors and volunteers enables us to continue touching the lives of families who find themselves in need of our services.

We invite you to explore our site and learn more about who we are, who we help, and what you can do to support our work. Together, we help burn patients and their families. Become part of the ”we,” and help the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation support these individuals in crisis.
